Treasure Hunt for 7 Year Olds

At seven, most children want to read the clue themselves and do not want to be told the answer. From age 7 the form selects the Detective level: a four-line riddle and a mini puzzle on every card. Milo the fox detective makes it a case to crack.

Make it for a 7-year-old

  1. Enter age 7. Detective is selected from age 7. Mystery Detective is the preselected theme. Switch to Explorer if reading is still hard work.
  2. Preview a riddle card. The free preview shows two of your spots. Check that the reading level looks right for your child.
  3. Keep the answer sheet. Print and hide the cards. Follow the group with the parent guide and give a hint only when they ask.

Common questions

My 7-year-old is not a strong reader yet. Still Detective?

Choose Explorer instead. It has a picture of the next spot and a two-line rhyme, and you can select it at any age from 4 to 10.

What kind of mini puzzles are on the cards?

Short ones that confirm the spot once solved. Flip through the Detective tab of the example pack on this page to see real cards.

How long does it keep seven-year-olds busy?

Plan for 20 to 30 minutes, and leave some slack. Riddles take more thinking than picture clues.

What do I see before I pay?

The theme character and two of your own hiding spots as illustrated clue cards, free and without a card. The full printable hunt is $29.99 (was $34.99).
