Sample Explorer clues for age 4

Make it for a 4-year-old

  1. Enter age 4. Explorer is selected for you. It is the picture-and-rhyme level, usually for ages 4 to 6. Fairy Tale Quest is the theme to start.
  2. Pick spots they already know. Preview two spots for free. Use the couch, the toy basket, or the fridge door. Skip anything they would have to climb or unlatch.
  3. Read along on the day. Print and hide each card where most of it shows. One grown-up walks with the group and reads every rhyme.

Common questions

Does my 4-year-old need to read?

No. Explorer cards show a picture of the next spot, and a grown-up reads the two short lines out loud.

Is the full set of ten stops too long?

Often yes. Six stops is plenty for a preschool party. You can skip cards if attention drops. The parent guide lists the order.

Older cousins are joining. Is Explorer too young?

The pictures still work. Let the older children read the rhymes. If most guests are 7 or older, use Detective for them and keep Explorer for the birthday child.

What do I see before I pay?

The theme character and two of your own hiding spots as illustrated clue cards, free and without a card. The full printable hunt is $29.99 (was $34.99).
