Treasure Hunt for 5 Year Olds

Five-year-olds want to run to the next spot, not wait while someone decodes a riddle. On the Explorer level every card shows a full picture of the next hiding spot with a two-line rhyme a grown-up reads out loud.

Sample Explorer clues

Make it for a 5-year-old

  1. Enter age 5. The Explorer level is selected for you. Under the Sea is preselected as the theme.
  2. Choose easy spots. Preview two spots for free. Pick places in plain sight, low down, in rooms they know.
  3. Read along on the day. Print and hide the cards. One grown-up walks with the group and reads each rhyme.

Common questions

Does my 5-year-old need to read?

No. On the Explorer level the picture shows the next spot and a grown-up reads the two-line rhyme.

Is ten stops too long for this age?

Most groups finish in 20 to 30 minutes. Keep the spots close together, and skip a card if attention drops; the parent guide shows the order.

What about older siblings or guests?

Let them be the readers and helpers. If most guests are 7 or older, choose the Detective level instead.

What do I see before I pay?

The theme character and two of your own hiding spots as illustrated clue cards, free and without a card. The full printable hunt is $29.99 (was $34.99).
